Now you might be wondering, how to use this application. Well just check underneath your dashboard and you’ll see a port for the OBD2 scanner. Just insert the scanner there, it’s not hard. Just turn on your car.

Open the application on your phone or tablet. Make sure you have your Bluetooth turned on. Then your phone or tablet will automatically connect the scanner. And you’re good to go.

The OBD2 scanner has 2 lights. Either it’s blue or red. If it’s blinking blue that means the pairing was successful and you’re good to go. If the pairing is not successful then you might wanna restart the entire process.

So, exactly what can you do with this scanner? Well, you can read and clear codes. You can repair reports and freeze frames. You can check the emission in the smog check. You can see mode 6, I don’t know what that is.

If you have your check engine light on then you can see for how long that’s been on. You can see your vehicle information.

With the OBD2 scanner, you can check all sorts of codes such as, check engine codes, transmission codes, ABS codes, and airbag codes. It’s basically one device to rule them all.

You can read all the codes and if you don’t understand any particular codes you can look it up on the internet. If your VIN is registered in the scanner then it will also give you a probable solution of what you can do to fix that problem. That’s like really cool.

The scanner will also tell you what caused the problem. It will guide you to the most reported fix that has solved the problem. In one word, this scanner will do everything to get your car in shape.

Suppose you had a check engine light on issue and you wanna know under what scenario that happened. You can simply go to the freeze frame and check the exact condition that happened. So that you can prevent that in the future.

In the smog check section, you will get a detailed report on whether your car has any emission problems or not. Suppose you’re going to get your car inspected by the DMV, then this can help you tremendously. You can check the car for yourself first and if there’s any issue then you can fix it first.

Previously I told you I know nothing about Mode 6, well I didn’t. But now I researched a bit and turns out it will show you all the values of different sensors and let you know whether they’re OK or not. Another nice thing to have.

Suppose you’re buying a used car. Then you can plug in the scanner and check yourself if the car had any check engine light issues. It will also tell you for how long the lights have been on. If it’s on for too long, that’s a negative flag. Because it indicates that the owner doesn’t care about his car that much and wants to get rid of the car as quickly as possible.
